Contouring

So I've heard a lot of people talk about Contouring recently, and for those of you that don't know, here is a description :

"Contouring is the art of shading and highlighting to bring out or lessen features. It works best when you use the same colour family, in lighter and darker shades. For instance, for blusher you blush as normal and if you want to have killer cheekbones, add a touch of a blusher a couple shades darker just under where you have put your blush, where you have slight hollows. This makes your cheekbones pop. Then you can add a lighter, shimmery colour on the top of your cheekbones. Blend as you don't want stripes. The darker shades recede things ( make them look smaller) and the lighter makes them stand out. I have a very slight double chin. If you take a brush with a little blush or bronzer on it and brush from under chin towards neck, straight down, it disappears. I have shaded it away! For noses, if its too long, a dab of blush/bronze on the end helps, or if too wide, brush a little on either side leaving the middle free. Experiment using the light/dark rule."

I didn't write this, mainly because of the fact I am useless at explaining things, I tend to say 'erm' 'like' and 'stuff' too much! I have quite a round face and don't have features that 'pop' so I thought I would try it out! I bought new make up for this, I used the MUA conceal & brighten kit in porcelain - beige, this cost me £2.50. I also used the MUA bronzer in shade 2 which cost me £1 and the baked highlighter from Savers which cost me £1.

My face does this thing where it turns really weird when a camera is present and turned really strange, so please excuse it, it doesn't mean to.

Firstly, I put on the highlighter, I put this on the middle of my nose, spreading up on to my forehead, under my eyes, on my chin, just above my cheek bones and under my eyebrows.

I then put on the bronzer, I placed this down the side (on the bone, if that makes sense) of my nose, either side of where I had put the highlighter on my nose, I also put bronzer, under the highlighter under my eyebrows, just under my cheek bones and along my jaw line.

So this is the finished look, I'm not 100% sure I  look much different but it depends on the person. I have no features to make look better because my face is just very round, so it would work differently on each individual person.

Always remember to blend so you don't have different coloured lines on your face!

Thank you guys for reading and let me know how you get on if you try. Also if you have any advice how to do this better then please let me know!

Cheap Make-up VS Big Brand Make-up

Hey guys! So as you all probably know by now, I like to try to spend as little as possible but still get good quality. Recently I bought some Mac products which I am completely in love with, I can really see the obsession, but I still think they are overpriced, as are a lot of other brands. Personally I don't have the money to spend a lot on make up, which is why I would much prefer to explore the cheaper brands and try to find something I like. It's better to spend £1 on a lipstick and decide you don't like the shade, rather than £20 and then lose out. That is my view anyway!

At the moment I am loving MUA at Superdrug and Seventeen at Boots. Both are super cheap but still really good make up, and I hate to say it, but I still prefer these to my more expensive brands such as Mac. I will always be a bargain hunter and prefer good deals but these two brands are just crazily cheap for what they are. I have a few bits from MUA including eye shadows, lipsticks and nail varnishes and  I have loads of items from Seventeen, the foundation, eyebrow kit and mascara are in my 'everyday' make up bag, which says a lot!

These are a few pictures if some of the things I own, from MUA and Seventeen. As you can see some packaging is nicer than others, which is obviously very important because if it doesn't look nice then you wont want to buy it, but I think most of them are presentable, some very nice looking.

Thank you for reading and let me know your views!

How to make a long distance relationship work.

So as most of you know, my boyfriend is at uni a million miles away (more like 4 hours away, but still) and obviously it is difficult to keep the relationship alive. A lot of people will have to make the decision on whether to keep a relationship going while going to University or moving away or even if you've met but live far away from each other. So I'm going to write down the way David and I do things, these are all just things we both find helps and some may work for you, some may not, it is down to personal relationships.

Firstly, you both need to figure out what you want from the relationship. Me and Dave sat down and spoke and said we wanted to try to facetime/skype everyday where possible, and we wanted to see each other at least every 3 weeks. Try to make these as realistic as possible, me and Dave don't facetime everyday because it is hard to fit it around his lectures and my work, but we do text and try to have a phone call before bed every night, and facetime every few days.

Secondly, we enjoy doing things together. I recently got an xbox so we can play online together, and I also bought netflix so we can watch films at the same time and talk about them. It's just the little things that matter. We only see each other for 2-3 days every 3-4 weeks so it is really important to find the time for each other. All relationships are different, you may see each other every week or every 6 months, but it is always necessary to find time for each other when you are apart. I always find it really nice looking outside at the moon and knowing he can see it too (so cheesy) but it is a really nice feeling that something that is at my window is also at his. Also it can help to give the other person something of yours with personal meaning behind it, Dave gave me his cookie monster plush and I gave him my bunny teddy, both mean a lot to us for personal reasons and have a personal joke behind them.

Thirdly, I like to keep myself busy, one of the reasons I've started using my blog a lot more. I also found two new jobs that keep me very busy, as well as trying to catch up with friends and family when I can. It is going to be a lot hardly if you sit and mope around all on your own, go and do something to take your mind off it.

Fourthly, try not to control your partner. I know it can be really really hard when they are out having fun and you are sat at home worrying and having no clue what they are doing, but why aren't you out having fun or doing something other than worrying? You are most likely both old enough to be out in clubs or just doing something and most people can look after themselves. I personally know Dave doesn't go over his limit and (minus the night of the bush - long story) he will always make it home safely, and even when I am asleep, he will always text me to let me know he is home safely so I don't worry when he is being super lazy the next day.

Fifthly, TRUST. I know people say this all the time, but there is no point in being in a relationship, especially a long distance one if you do not have trust. I will all end badly. If they have done something to make you not trust them, then why are you with them if they hurt you? And if they haven't, then you have no reason not to trust them. One thing I found hard was knowing I had been hurt in the past and being scared of it again, but you need to remember that your current relationship and partner aren't the same as the ones in your past, and you need to treat a new relationship like exactly what it is, new and the future, not the past.

Sixthly, talk about your future and your goals. Where do you want to be in 5 years? Will you still be far away from each other or will one move closer to the other? What kind of job do you want? etc, talking about this kind of thing with your partner just proves that you are still expecting to be in the relationship in 5+ years. You need to remember to support each other as well, on whatever it is they want to do.

Lastly, remember to always treasure the time you have together. Whether you want to go out and do as much as you can, or spend the whole weekend curled up on the sofa watching crap TV, do something you both want to do. Try not to argue over silly things like the washing up or who left the light on upstairs, remember that they will probably be leaving in a few days and then they will be gone for a while again.

Thank you guys for reading this post, if you have anything to add or any questions to ask me then feel free!
Always remember to stay positive in any situation, it will always help.

Clothing Haul!

So if you read my Make up haul post you will know that I have recently been on a (very naughty) shopping trip! So I have quite a few bits to share with you, I haven't put everything I bought into here just because I felt there was too much and I didn't want to overload you all with random pictures of clothes etc, haha!
I hate hate hate taking pictures of clothes on hangers but my mannequin is broken at the moment, so all these clothes are so lovely but some look terrible because of the way they sit on the hanger, just to let you know!

So first of all this this baggy crop top from Boohoo, it is just simple and will go with basically anything. I really really love it, it sits so nicely on me and looks great with a pencil skirt or jeans!

Next is this adorable skirt which is also from Boohoo, I mainly wear black and white and don't tend to wear bright or flowery items but I saw this and thought it was just so different to everything I own I would give it a go. I thought paired with my new black crop top it would look really good!

The same goes for these shorts, I very rarely wear shorts and this pattern and style was just so different to anything I own, I thought on holiday with a bikini on these would look adorable! Obviously I haven't had chance yet because of England's crappy weather but I am very excited to be able to wear these! These are also from Boohoo!

I have a thing for leather at the moment and I always love skater skirts, I have been looking for one for a while and then I saw this one in New Look and just had to buy it! It is quite long, around my knee's which is unusal for a skater skirt as mine are all around mid-thigh length  but all the same I really like it. Due to it's length (and my height) I think it would definitely look best with heels!

This tartan skort from misguided is one of my favourite items of clothing ever purchased (as is the next item!) put with my new black crop top and some plain black heels it looks amazing. I'm starting to really like tartan which is quite bizarre as I don't tend to wear clothing that isn't plain black but I really really love these!

This dress is just adorable. I wore it out last week with my black chelsea boots, leather jacket with black lipstick on and I just loved it (although I felt slightly like Wednesday from the Addams Family) I saw one basically exactly the same in River Island for £36 and fell in love, then went into a store in Stafford called Carbon and found this one for £15 and I just knew it was fate! The bottom is like a skater skirt, which you can't really see from the photo, but it looks fabulous on!

This was a bit of a random buy on Ebay, it isn't really me, it is more something I would wear for a house party when I was 15, but with me trying to wear different things to usual I thought I would give it a try and I actually really like it!

As well as treating myself I thought I best buy something for Dave, and I just thought this shirt was so so cute! It is from Topman and I just kind of fell in love with it. Dave is more of a casual dresser than a dressy up-er (what?) so I thought this shirt was just perfect, not too much of either!

Lastly are a two pairs of tights that I bought from New Look. As well as trying to mix up my actual clothes I am also trying to mix up my who outfit.I though with a plain dress these would both look adorable. I don't like having too much going on in my outfit so I wouldn't wear these with a patterned dress, I think they would look loads better with a simple dress and a bit of jewellery with either heels or flats.

As always, thank you so much for reading and let me know what you think of my new buys and any different ways of wearing anything!

Make up Haul!

So it should be made official that I should not be allowed to go shopping, my bank card really hates me. But I thought I would share with you a few of the things I have bought recently.
In this part I will be showing you the make up I bought, then later I will be showing the the clothing I bought. I was going to put it into one post but decided it would just be too long and no one wants to read a huge post forever! So let's get into it!

First up is this beautiful Mac Lip Pencil in Boldly Bare. I am completely in love with this colour, even though it is very different to colours I usually go for. I usually wear bright colours like pink or red and recently I have been experimenting with dark purple and black. But this is such a gorgeous colour, I has a slight orange/coral/pink to it but not overly noticeable. This is the first Mac product I have ever bought and it was so worth the money!

Next up is this Cuticle Massage Cream by Sally Hansen which I wasn't really sure of but I thought I would try it out, and I am so so glad I did. It smells AMAZING which is always a plus, and it isn't greasy which I have found with some similar products. My cuticles are never in terrible condition so I am not sure it would work for cuticles in serious need of help but I am happy with how it has worked for me!

Lastly is Baby Lips by Maybelline, I have heard mixed reviews about this and my lips are in a bit of a state because of all the cold weather at the moment, and I was just using my vaseline as normal and thought I would try something different! Apparently it gives you fully moistured lips in 4 weeks, however after only a week my lips have become less chapped, less painful and I really can't believe how well this lip balm work and if your lips are need of a bit of TLC then definitely try this out! I went for the intensive care one which doesn't really have a scent to it but there are loads of different flavours and types such as the mint one and hydrate one, I am dying to try the mint one and I may have to make a cheeky trip to boots later!

Thanks for reading guys, I will have a clothing haul up later! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and if so, what you thought of them!

What kind of blogger are you?

So I came across a few posts online for 'different types of bloggers' I immediately just thought like beauty, fashion, gadgets, gaming etc. But that isn't what the posts meant, they meant different types of people that blog. So if you are like me and just thought blogging is blogging, its a hobby that certain people enjoy and they talk about their interests and that is that, then apparently we are all wrong.

So first of all you have the general types, like I first thought of. You have :
The Hedonist - Who just posts about life in general.
The Techie - Fascinated by new gadgets and apps.
The Professional - Those people that have to do it for their jobs and to make connections.
The Preacher - They stick to one field and update you on the latest and greatest.
The Life Improver - A 'how to' blog.
The Beauty Hunter - Beauty, Make up, Fashion, Hair, Nails etc.
The Life Stager - Blogging about life tasks such as a pregnancy/baby blog.

Then it gets even more confusing, these are different types of people that blog :
The Parasite : Basically just copy and paste from a more successful blogger.
The Doppelganger : The same as The Parasite but they ask for permission to do it.
The Controvery King : Disagree with everything to get attention.
The Contrarian Specialists : Disagree with everything but with a good point.
The Researcher : They like to know everything about everything.
The Reluctant Blogger : Posts on and off.
The Hedonist Blogger : Don't care if anyone follows them, they enjoy doing it.
The Niche Influener : The blogger everyone wants to be.
The Secret Agents : Knows everything about specific things but for their job.
The Astute Observer : They know everything about everything in their field.
The Guest Blogger : Writing for other blogs.
The Marketer : Only write promotional posts about a product or service.
The Social Enthusiast : More on social media than blogs. Social identity is very important.
The Professional Blogger : Earn their living from their blog.
The Passionate Blogger : Passionate about writing and what they write about.

So there are so so so many posts online about different types of bloggers, there are over 100 different types I found, I just wrote a few out for you guys. So how does it feel to know you are being put into a category? I love writing my blog but personally, I do it because I love it. I love putting my opinions out there and the fact that people actually read my posts make me feel amazing but I don't do it because I want money or I want to be known, I just do it because it is something I enjoy, and I know the same goes for a lot of other bloggers.

Thank you so much for reading this post, let me know your thoughts on all these different types of bloggers.

How to dress for your body shape

I started this blog off with looking online on different websites for different information so not to give you false information, but I hate how they've made fashion strict. So please read this but remember you don't have to stick to the rules?
So you read somewhere don't wear a pattern with big hips, if you want to wear a pattern, then wear it.
The first step to people loving you, is you loving yourself (as cheesey as that sounds).
So why dress how people tell you to? Why walk round not being comfy?
If you see something you like but think 'I read that my body shape shouldn't wear that', if you like it then buy it and flaunt it.
So please read on and check out my advice but don't take it too seriously, dress how you want to, not how people tell you to.

First you need to identify what body shape you have, the main four are Apple, Rectangular, Pear and Hour-Glass, however Trinny and Susanna claim there are actually 12 body shapes of women,
these are Apple, Brick, Goblet, Hour-Glass, Vase, Cello, Pear, Skittle, Bell, Column, Lollipop and Cornet.
It seems quite crazy that there could be this many different shapes of women.
I know every single person has a different body but surely they are all pretty similar? Apparently not.
So here is a quick run through of all the different body shapes to help you find yours.
Apple : Tummy is the largest part, you are a soft round shape.
Rectangular/Brick : Square shape with lack of curves.
Pear : More weight below the waist, larger hips, thighs and calves.
Hour-Glass : Larger chest and hips with a small defined waist.
Goblet : Broad shoulders with no defined waist.
Vase : 'Stretched hourglass' same curves but on a taller frame.
Cello : Similar to the Goblet but with a curvier waist.
Skittle : Similar to the Pear but with a smaller bottom and on a taller frame.
Bell : Small shoulders and waist with a larger bottom and thighs.
Column : Taller with smlim waist, long legs and equal shoulder/hip size.
Lollipop : Larger chest, slim waist and hips with long legs.
Cornet : Smaller chest, broad shoulders and long legs.

So now you have figured out what body shape you are, you need to figure out the best way to dress for your body.
Personally, I have a small chest and waist, medium hips and short legs so I'm not even sure which one I fit into! My hips aren't big enough to be pear but not small enough to be rectangular!

So instead of going through each body type I am going to do something slightly different.
I am going to do how to dress best for each main body. This is my personal opinion.

Small Chest : Patterns, ruffles, bright colours.
Large Chest : V necks and wrap around tops/dresses that show off you assets.
Large Belly : Loose flowing tops or dresses.
Defined Waist : Draw attention with belts and tight waist lines.
Non-defined Waist : Flowy dresses that don't attract attention to the waist.
Small Hips : Baggy 'larger at the hip' trousers or skinny jeans.
Large Hips : Dark colours, straight leg trousers.
Large thighs : Boot leg or straight leg jeans, dark colours.
Long Legs : Skinny jeans, Skater skirts, maxi dresses.
Short Legs : Dark colours, High waist skirts/trousers.

Personally with my body shape I prefer a higher neckline to hide my small chest, I nearly ALWAYS wear a belt to show off my waist and I love skater skirts. I feel my body shape looks better in skirts and it is very very rare you will see me in trousers. I also love my Chelsea boots with a small heel as I feel these make my legs look longer and slimmer.

Wear necklaces to attract attention to your chest if this is your best asset, If you would prefer less attention there then wear chunky bracelets or a nice handbag to divert attention away.
Keep bright colours and patterns away from any part of you body you don't want attention, stick to block dark colours.

Like I said at the start, don't take it all too seriously.
Enjoy your body, explore new patterns and styles.

Thank you for reading, I will leave a few images below of how some celebrities have chosen to dress for their bodies, let me know if you think they are rocking it or not!

Internet Shopping

So if you guys haven't seen my latest youtube video, go watch it here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGae92OYnWA&feature=youtu.be

It is about internet shopping, I adore internet shopping, it is just so much easier for me. But you do YOU think about it? Is is handy or just unnecessary? Do you feel better going in to shops and knowing what you are buying and how it fits? Let me know!

I will be trying to post on here at least once a week now my hectic work schedule isn't so bad, I worked 10 days in a row, including two jobs on the same day multiple time, so I haven't really had chance to post on here or on my youtube channel around work and sleep. But hopefully I will be seeing a lot more of you guys.
